    Detailed Itinerary:

    Day 1

Arrive in Rio. Tour the highlights of the city, including Christ the Redeemer, Copacabana beach and the Sugarloaf.

    Day 2

We start the day with a trip to the San Bodramo area to learn more about the Carneval itself. Having learned about the history, culture and tradition of the event, it prepares you nicely for the evening show. It lasts long into the night, so be prepared to party and to be entertained by the lively dancing and music.

    Day 3

Today is a much more relaxed day to recover. We explore the Parque Lage and the botanical gardens before taking a favela tour - a unique insight into the way of life of so many locals. We end the day with a relazing trip to Ipanema beach to enjoy the spectcular sunset.

    Day 4

The final day is a trip to Paraty, a small seaside town around 250 km from Rio. It is worth the journey, as you get to enjoy the UNESCO-listed historic centre with charming cobble-stoned streets and a true reflection of Portuguese influence. The day can also include a distillery tour of the local liquor - cachaça - derived from sugar cane! HOwever, the best part about Paraty is the incredible nature that surrounds it. The region is home to beautiful waterfalls, mangroves, mountains covered with dense Atlantic rainforest and a coastline sprinkled with secluded beaches.

    Day 5

Depart Rio to either link up with another Global Dream Travel tour, or return home having partied, relaxed and explored!
